"My first watch was a Lip Sky Nautic that I "stole" from my father, and I still own and wear it sometimes during the summer."
INTRODUCING
Guido Pugliese
This week, we are featuring Italian collector Guido Pugliese. Guido is an extremely passionate collector of Sea-Dwellers, and Roberto Randazzo calls him no less than one of the "Best Experts" with regards to 1665s. That encyclopedic knowledge of Sea-Dwellers has culminated into an amazing collection of 1665s. When he's not immersed in the world of Rolex, Guido can be found on the golf course, with a Toscano cigar in his mouth.
What was your first watch?
My first watch was a Lip Sky Nautic that I "stole" from my father, and I still own and wear it sometimes during the summer.
What was the last watch you bought?
Last watch I bought was a 1665 White MK0 also known as "The Real Big White"
Do you prefer vintage or modern?
No doubt: vintage only!
Can you remember your last great meal? Where was it and what did you eat?
At Parma during last fair with my friends Roberto Randazzo and Corrado Mattarelli at "Parmarotta", for a great "arrosticciata di carne".
Do you remember what watch you were wearing?
Yes, Corrado's 1665 No-Valve, just for a little "tour"...
What do you love about vintage Rolex?
Cupoloni and Pallettoni, that's all! (For us non-Italian speakers, that's domed crystals and matte dials.)
Strap or bracelet?
Bracelet without any doubt, with the Folded and Patent Pending my favorites!
GMT/EXPLORER/SUB/DAYTONA or........?
Sea Dweller, Sea Dweller, Sea Dweller- the essence of Rolex sports and tool watches!
What do you want to see come out from Rolex at the next Basel Fair?
Uhm... Maybe The Challenger Deep Sea for sale?
What's on your wrist today?
The same watch that's on my wrist almost every day- my trusty tropical "Patent Pending" Sea-Dweller.
