INTRODUCING

Roy and Sacha Davidoff

This week, we bring to you an interview with the duo behind Davidoff Brothers, Roy and Sacha Davidoff. Based in old town Geneva, Roy and Sacha have a beautiful showroom that just happens to be down the street from one of our favorite haunts, the MB&F MAD Gallery. Both brothers have had very similar paths, studying and working abroad for many years before ultimately coming back to Geneva and founding their eponymous shop together. True collectors at heart, Roy and Sacha have not only been collecting watches for many years, but have also worked in the industry, honing their chops with brands such as Bovet, IWC and Jacob & Co. The Davidoff brothers are this week's Horological Minute.

What was your first watch?

Roy: Omega Mark II Racing Dial 1969 from my Dad Sacha: Rolex Oysterdate with stretch bracelet and mint black dial from Roy

What was the last watch you bought?

Roy: Omega Alaska re-edition Sacha: Swatch diaphane 2001 Carousel One

Do you prefer vintage or modern?

Both: Most definitely vintage!

Can you remember your last great meal? Where was it and what did you eat?

Roy: BBQ for my cousins Bday, steaks cooked to perfection… And lots of alcohol! Sacha: BBQ by the lake with friends, steaks...

Do you remember what watch you were wearing?

Roy : I was wearing my Seadweller 4000 with matt dial and ceramic bezel Sacha: I wore my Tudor Black Bay Red with gilt dial

What do you love about vintage Rolex?

Both: Truthfully, we prefer Omega Speedmasters over Rolex!! Roy: My first watch was an Omega Speedmaster, so it will always be my first love.

Strap or bracelet?

Both: Nice leather strap.

GMT/EXPLORER/SUB/DAYTONA or........?

Roy: Seadweller 4000 ceramic Sacha: Milgauss 6541 lightning hand

What do you want to see come out from Rolex at the next Basel Fair?

Both: We'd like to see some cool retro stuff, like what Tudor has been doing. Something along the lines of the ONLY WATCH Black Bay would be great!

Can you tell us about the most interesting watch you’ve ever found/owned?

Both: We recently found an incredible NOS Omega Seamster 300 from 1967 that comes with everything- Box, Papers, Hang Tags, etc. Unfortunately its at the bank, so we can't share any pics with you, but trust me. Amazing.

What's on your wrist today?

Roy: Omega Speedmaster 145.022-69 from 1971 with a tropical dial Sacha: Longines Czech Air Force from 1938
