6234: While the word "Transitional" is often overused in the watch world, this is watch truly has the characteristics of a transitional piece. Under the word Rolex on the dial, it is printed with only "CHRONOGRAPH", and not the usual "OYSTER CHRONOGRAPH". I have seen very few dials like this over the years, and I could not locate a picture of one on the internet right now. This dial likely was produced in very small numbers and is far rarer than the typical "OYSTER CHRONOGRAPH" dial. This watch has recently been overhauled by my watchmaker and is keeping excellent time with all chronograph functions working properly.
CASE
Case is in amazing original condition with a razor sharp bezel and well defined factory finish edges. The "Stainless Steel" engraving is still visible along the lip of the case back. (Along with an engraving bearing the original owner’s initials.)
DIAL
Dial is in very good condition. There is an area of darkness on the dial that may have been caused by the luminous from the hour hand. Other than that the dial is in excellent original shape. Surface is free from the usual spotting that happens on these watches.
BRACELET
Comes on a vintage style leather strap.
