Ref. 6263: Not only did Rolex make watches for the British MOD, but they also equipped the Fuerza Aerea Del Peru with both GMTs and Daytonas. This particular Daytona features a killer "Sigma" dial that has its subdials turning a very nice dark brown. What makes this one truly special is its original condition as the case back still has visible the small issue number which its more often than not polished off. An exceptional piece for that special collector.
CASE
Case is in original condition showing wear consistent with its age. The case has not been polished recently, and features slightly worn but thick lugs. Various small dings and scratches are visible, but nothing major. Would look as new after a gentle polish. The caseback engravings are strong, and the tiny three digit issue number is still visible clearly with the naked eye.
DIAL
Original tritium "Sigma" dial is in excellent shape. Lume dots are all present, although the 3 and 9 ones have been slightly bruised. The sundials are turning a dark brown color. No major scratches or marks on the dial. The black bakelite bezel is a later version, but is free from any cracks and is original Rolex production.
BRACELET
Comes on a solid link 78350 band with 12 links. Showing similar wear to the head, it shows very little stretch and can be made like new if so desired.
