Ref. 1016: The iconic Explorer, the first watch to summit Everest. A personal favorite, this example features a beautiful dark gilt glossy dial beautifully matching gilt hands and markers. The bubble of the original domed crystal on this example further add to the originality of this fine specimen.
Case is in excellent condition. Thick lugs and and sharp bezel. Watch has recently been detailed and there are no dings or scratches and the numbers are clean between the lugs.
Original glossy gilt dial that is turning brown around the edges. Although hard to photograph, it is quite apparent when you are looking at it in the sun. Dial is shinny and mirror like, and there are no major scratches or marks. It is near mint. Luminous markers on the dial match the hands perfectly.
Comes on an original swiss rivet 7206 band. One of the end pieces is market 58, and another is a 380, which must have been replaced at a service. The band has 12 links and is tight with only a little stretch.
