Ref. 1016: A nice example of an Explorer I 1016 complete with original box and papers. This particular example was sold in the 1980s and came from the factory with a jubilee band. A mix of dressy and sporty, this is a versatile watch for anyone.
CASE
Explorer I 1016s inherently have thin lugs that deteriorate rapidly with poor polishing. Thankfully this example features nice lugs with plenty of metal above the pin holes and a nice thickness across the top. Case has minimal surface wear and dents, and is in overall excellent shape.
DIAL
The original tritium dial is in excellent condition, with light cream patina. The hands have a little bit of oxidation and slight cracking in the lume. They are a touch darker than the dial, but are original and still look nice with the luminous markers beneath.
BRACELET
As seen on the guarantee paper, the watch was originally sold on this jubilee band, which has five removable links. The clasp has an "H6" date code which is period correct for the watch. Endlinks are 550.
