Ref. 1680: A great complete example of Red Submariner! Rolex's first Submariner with a date, the 1680 was produced for a long time, and with many different dial variations. This particular one was produced circa 1970, and is in excellent condition. Comes with inner and outer box, booklets, casebook sticker, punched guarantee paper, etc. (Unfortunately the serial number is obscured on the green hang tag.) Even the original price tag is affixed to the outer box!
Case has been recently detailed and is in factory spec with sharp chamfered edges and thick well defined lugs. Serial number and ref. number are clear and visible as shown.
Dial is a feet first example with "open sixes". It is mint and free from any marks on the surface. Hands are tritium and in a matching tone as is the bezel pearl.
Bracelet is a more contemporary solid 91350 oyster fliplock. It has 11 links and shows minimal stretch.
