1665: Wow, if watches could talk I wonder what this one would say. As the accompanying letter states, this watch was given off the wrist of Hafez al-Assad as a reward for a Ramadan meal well prepared. Purchased from the recipient of this interesting act of generosity, this watch is completely original and honest in every respect of the word. A historically significant watch and one who’s history is so directly related to current events in the middle east. An autographed photograph of Pres. Hafez al-Asaad also accompanies this important watch.
Case in excellent condition with thick and straight lugs. No major dings, only slight surface wear and marks. Serial and ref. numbers are clear and visible between the lugs.
Original Rolex dial in very good condition. "Hafez al-Assad" is written in red Arabic script above the Sea-Dweller. There are two small oil stains on the dial- one between 11 and 12 o’clock, and one between 4 and 5 o’clock. They are located between the lume and around the edge of the dial. Luminous is slightly aged due to this, but the dial is beautiful and the stains do not detract from the overall beauty of the watch.
Comes on a 91350 oyster fliplock bracelet with 12 links and 580 end pieces. Bracelet has light stretch.
