5513: This is the Comex sub that has been prominently featured in many Italian Rolex books. It was part of the Mondani collection that was sold by Antiquorum many years ago. As found and photographed, the watch and an incorrect meters first dial fitted into it. We saw fit to put a period correct dial into the watch to return it to its original spec. A great piece of early Comex history!
Original oyster case is in excellent condition. Recently polished to factory spec with beveled sharp edges. The original Comex issue number is still visible at the bottom of the case. (106) This is often polished off and it is rare for it to be still visible.
Original matte feet first dial in excellent condition with a nice patina. The hands are patinated and generally match, however the hour hand is a few shades darker. This dial was recently fitted into the watch and is 100% period correct. When watch was acquired, it had a meters first dial which is incorrect.
Comes on a folded link oyster fliplock bracelet. The bracelet has 12 links and has little stretch.
