Rolex Tru-Beat "Dead Seconds" 6556

6556: The Tru-Beat is an interesting watch that Rolex sold in the late 1950s and early 1960s. It was produced for a very short time, and featured a "Dead Seconds" movment which made the seconds hand tick like a quartz watch. It was aimed at professionals such as doctors, who could use this feature to accurately take a pulse from their patients. This watch was difficult to service, and as a result most of the Tru-Beats we see today have been modified to sweep like their other counterparts, making this particular example a rarity due to its originality. The dead seconds feature on this watch works spot on, and it is keeping good time and functioning as it should.
