6556: The Tru-Beat is an interesting watch that Rolex sold in the late 1950s and early 1960s. It was produced for a very short time, and featured a "Dead Seconds" movment which made the seconds hand tick like a quartz watch. It was aimed at professionals such as doctors, who could use this feature to accurately take a pulse from their patients. This watch was difficult to service, and as a result most of the Tru-Beats we see today have been modified to sweep like their other counterparts, making this particular example a rarity due to its originality. The dead seconds feature on this watch works spot on, and it is keeping good time and functioning as it should.
Excellent condition with minimal polishing, no corrosion or damage on the case.
Original "Sector" dial marked with light aging and "spider webbing" on the surface. Markers are all clean and original.
Comes on a blue crocodile strap with genuine Rolex SS buckle. Notes: The Tru-B
